Taurus 840 .40 S&W, 4″ Barrel

This is the Taurus 840 chambered in .40 Smith & Wesson. Based on the Taurus OSS pistol originally designed for military trials, this version adds an external hammer and a useful feature called ‘Strike Two’.

The ‘Strike Two’ system is designed to address misfires caused by hard primers. If a primer doesn’t ignite the round on the first strike, the pistol automatically resets the trigger for a second double-action strike, potentially saving you from a failure in a critical situation. We see a fair bit of corrosive ammunition that can cause misfires during Oregon’s wetter months.
