Taurus GX2 TORO: Precision 9mm Optics-Ready Pistol
The Taurus GX2 TORO represents a refined evolution in the striker-fired pistol category, engineered specifically for shooters who demand immediate optics integration without sacrificing reliability. This 9mm platform combines Taurus’s proven mechanical architecture with the TORO (Taurus Optic Ready Option) system, allowing direct mounting of popular red dot sights without adapter plates. Built around a durable polymer frame and a stainless steel slide with a Tenifer-like finish, the GX2 TORO delivers corrosion resistance and consistent cycling under varied conditions. For the shooter seeking a factory-prepared optics-ready handgun at a competitive price point, this model delivers specification-driven performance straight from the box.
Overview
The Taurus GX2 TORO is a striker-fired, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger, designed with a focus on modular optics compatibility and ergonomic handling. The TORO slide system features milled mounting cuts that accept the Shield RMS/RMSc footprint directly, eliminating the need for aftermarket machining or shims. The frame incorporates an adjustable backstrap system to accommodate different hand sizes, while the trigger assembly offers a crisp break with a short reset for faster follow-up shots. With a standard 17-round magazine capacity and a 4.0-inch barrel, the GX2 TORO balances concealability with range performance. The pistol includes three interchangeable backstraps and a loaded chamber indicator, meeting the requirements of both duty use and personal defense.
